Jonathan is currently working on a novel coherent integrated receiver with feedback for significantly enhancing the spur-free dynamic range of fiber-optic links. His research involves the development and monolithic integration of high efficiency MQW phase modulators, high output saturation and high linearity balanced photodetectors, and high performance and compact MMI couplers. Jonathan has also worked on high efficiency bipolar cascade SGDBR lasers for improved direct modulation performance, as well as monolithic photocurrent driven wavelength converters based on these lasers. His research interests also include MOCVD growth for advanced photonic integrated circuits.
