Professor Coldren and his group have published over 900 articles and presentations in the field of optoelectronics. Many of these articles have appeared in the IEEE Journal of Lightwave Technology, Photonics Technology Letters, Journal of Quantum Electronics, and Applied Physics Letters. Recent presentations have been made at the OFC 2007, and IPRA 2006 conferences.

These papers are reprinted annually in Professor Coldren's Research in Optoelectronics book. Reprints of many articles from past years are also available below.

These generally focus on III-V semiconductor lasers and related photonic integrated circuits. The work spans efforts from basic materials and processing technology, through device physics and design, to device formation, characterization, and insertion into systems demonstrations.

The reprints have been grouped into three areas: I. Photonic IC Technology & Devices; II. Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers; and III. Cavity QED, Single-Photon Emitters, and Spin Physics.

2002 Reprints
In this annual installment reprints of papers published in the year 2002 by Professor Larry A. Coldren, his students, and his collaborators are given. The work is in the general area of III-V semiconductor optoelectronics with an emphasis on materials and devices for diode lasers and photonic integrated circuits(PICs) incorporating such lasers. The reprints have been grouped into four areas: I. InP-Based Photonic ICs; II. InPBased Vertical-Cavity Devices; III. GaAs-Based Vertical-Cavity Devices; and IV. GaN-Based Lasers and Materials. The efforts in the first two areas are further broken down into specific project directions, which account for most of the work in Prof. Coldren’s group. In the Photonic IC (PIC) area many of the projects are associated with the widely-tunable sampled-grating distributed-Bragg-reflector (SGDBR) laser platform.
