Faculty and students in Communications and Signal Processing at UCSB conduct basic and applied research in communication systems and networks, digital signal processing, and source compression. There are on-going research projects in the areas of adaptive and digital signal processing; high-resolution imaging and imaging systems optimization; wireless communications; sensor networks; computer vision; bio-image informatics; data, speech, audio, still image, and video compression; engineering computation and algorithms; speech, image and video processing; information theory and rate distortion theory; pattern recognition; and neural networks. |
