COURSE CONTENT
--Review of AWGN channel model, modulation and demodulation
--Information-theoretic limits (Chapter 6): just enough to be able to compute
performance benchmarks
--Channel coding (Chapter 7): convolutional codes, turbo-like codes
--Wireless communication (Chapter 8): fading, diversity, OFDM, space-time (MIMO)
communication

PROJECT INFORMATION
The software project is an individual project, involving a guided
implementation of a turbo code, with results presented in a short
written report. The details of the presentation project are to be determined.
EXAM INFORMATION
This will be a take-home exam to be completed over 2 days.
Homework must be turned in at the beginning of the lecture on the day that it is due. Late submissions will not be accepted, unless prior permission has been obtained from the instructor. One or more students will be assigned to grade each homework.
