COURSE CONTENT

--Review of AWGN channel model, modulation and demodulation
--Information-theoretic limits (Chapter 6): just enough to be able to compute performance benchmarks
--Channel coding (Chapter 7): convolutional codes, turbo-like codes
--Wireless communication (Chapter 8): fading, diversity, OFDM, space-time (MIMO) communication

Software Project 25%
Presentation Project 25%
Exam 35%

PROJECT INFORMATION

The software project is an individual project, involving a guided
implementation of a turbo code, with results presented in a short
written report. The details of the presentation project are to be determined.

EXAM INFORMATION

This will be a take-home exam to be completed over 2 days.
