10:15 – 11:45am (Session 2) – Computer Vision with MATLAB for Object Detection and Tracking

In this session, we will use MATLAB and the Computer Vision System Toolbox to demonstrate applications of object detection and tracking. Through interactive examples, you will see how to:

• Recognize objects using scale- and rotation-invariant features
• Use a cascade-classifier algorithm to find objects of interest
• Track objects using a point tracking algorithm
• Perform Kalman Filtering to predict the location of a moving object
• Implement a motion-based multiple object tracking system

** This event assumes some experience with MATLAB and Image Processing Toolbox.

11:45am – 12pm – Break

12:00 – 1:00pm (Session 2) – Simulink for MATLAB Users

In this presentation, we will take a look at solving a problem in the MATLAB environment and demonstrate the same solution in the Simulink environment. Once inside the Simulink environment we will further demonstrate some very simple, but powerful, capabilities that highlight the benefits of modeling in the Simulink environment while still taking advantage of the connection with MATLAB.

** No previous experience with MATLAB or Simulink is necessary, but the information presented will be useful to beginner to intermediate users.
