    Di received his B.S. degree in Optical Engineering from the Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China in 2002, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN in 2004 and 2006, respectively. His MS project focused on single-mode SOI waveguide simulations, fabrication and characterizations, and then he switched the research focus to III-V compound semiconductor optoelectronic devices, especially GaAs-based high-index-contrast, low-loss ridge waveguides, and high-efficiency laser design, fabrication optimization and characterizations. He has authored and coauthored over 20 journal and conference papers, and is a member of IEEE, OSA and SPIE. His current research interests include low-temperature wafer bonding, semiconductor lasers and compound semiconductor manufacturing, etc.
