    Emily Burmeister received her B.S. in Engineering Physics from the University of Michigan in May 2002. She finished her Ph.D. at the University of California at Santa Barbara in May 2008. Her thesis title was "Integrated Optical Buffers for Packet-Switched Networks". Emily is now employed by Ciena in Linthicum, MD. Emily misses her colleagues at UCSB.
