    Jared Bauters received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2008. His undergraduate research involved the initial development and optimization of a novel process for growing wet-thermal native oxides on GaAs, as well as characterization of the oxide-GaAs interface. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of California at Santa Barbara. His research interests include the design, fabrication, and characterization of optoelectronic devices.
