    Michael received his undergraduate degree in Optical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2007. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D in electrical engineering at the University of California in Santa Barbara. His research interests include low-noise mode-locked lasers for applications in optical networks.
