Welcome to the WCSL home page! Our research philosophy is to identify and understand fundamental bottlenecks in communication and sensor networks, and to use a blend of creative ideas, modeling, mathematics, computer simulations, and prototyping to develop architectures and algorithms to relieve these bottlenecks. Our research initiatives are often interdisciplinary, since we tackle hard problems that require collaboration of people with diverse expertise. Our current research on sensor networks focuses on scalable and energy-efficient architectures and algorithms, and has led to novel concepts such as imaging sensor nets and distributed beamforming. Our current research on next generation communication networks focuses on wireless mesh networks and multiGigabit millimeter wave indoor and outdoor wireless networks.
