Water Buffalo Foot I originally started taking a picture of my foot to prove that I was in a certain place.  It's much easy than asking some random person to take your picture.  And your foot tends to age much better than the rest of your body, though your footwear may become outdated.   This was taken August 20, 2006 - the summer after I obtained tenure.  It was a summer with a lot of travel, a 3 month post-tenure vacation, if you will.  I spent a little over 2 weeks in South Africa, including about 10 days on safari.  Water buffalo are quite mean fellows, so you don't want to cross them.  So in this case, the foot picture more due to the fact that I couldn't go stand next to one without getting gored.
