About Me

I am an assistant professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. My research interests are broadly in the areas of applied probability, networks, machine learning, coding and information theory, and transportation systems.

Before joining as a faculty at UCSB, I was a postdoctoral scholar in the EECS Department at UC Berkeley, working with Professor Kannan Ramchandran and Professor Pravin Varaiya. I obtained my PhD in May 2015 from the EECS Department at UC Berkeley under the supervision of Professor Jean Walrand. I received my M.Sc. degree at EPFL in 2011, and my B.Sc. degree at the University of Tehran in 2009.

I am a recipient of the best paper award at the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) in 2014 and a recipient of the Rafael-Rodriguez fellowship from UC Berkeley in 2011.
