RF/Microwave circuits. Physical principles of communications
systems design. Circuit noise analysis. Low
noise amplifier design. Receiver
Sensitivity. Nonlinearities, sum and difference frequency generation. Harmonic
and intermodulation distortion. Mixers and frequency conversion. Oscillators. Receiver
and Transmitter architectures.
Grading.
The grading for seniors and graduate students will be
separate. Graduate students taking the course will have more difficult
assignments.
The grade for this course will be based *approximately* on
the following:
Lab Projects 30%
(lab1: 5%; lab2 10%; lab3 15%)
Final 30%
Midterm 30%
Homework 10%
