Yuan Liu is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of California Santa Barbara with emphasis on Electronics & Photonics. He received his M.S. in ECE from UCSB in 2014 and another M.S. in Condensed Matter Physics from the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing, China) in 2012 with emphasis on High Power Solid State Lasers and Optical Frequency Conversion Technologies. In 2009 he graduated with a B.S. from the Harbin Institute of Technology in China. His research interests include Photonic Integrated Circuits, Microwave Photonics and his current research is mainly focused on Integrated Optical Beam Forming Networks.
