Department Chair Jerry Gibson visits HBCU Jackson State University and presents a seminar to promote interaction with UCSB

Professor Gibson presented a seminar at Jackson State University on Oct. 19th entitled “Electrical and Computer Engineering and Research in the Video and Voice over Networks Lab at the University of California, Santa Barbara.”

During his visit he promoted interaction between Jackson State University and UCSB and interviewed students for 2012 summer research opportunities in his ViVoNets Lab. The summer research support for JSU students is provided under a grant from the UC-HBCU initiative. Selected students will spend 10 weeks working in the ViVoNets Lab in the ECE Department at UCSB. The grant will support student visits during the summers of 2012-2014.
