Electronic Component Sales
Package Receiving and Drop-off
- Incoming Package: notification by email is sent for all packages received for the ECE Department
- Outgoing Package: may be dropped off at the ECE Shop as long as one of the following is met -
- Carrier’s prepaid shipping label plus carrier notified of package
- Completed Shipping Memo: obtained from the Budget Office
Other Packages
- FedEx small Package Drop-off: before 3:00 pm in the Central Administrative Office (HFH, Rm 4155)
- FedEx Box: outside of the entrance to MRL
- U.S. Postal Box: outside of the entrance to MRL
Equipment Inventory
- All equipment with a purchased price greater than $5,000 shall receive a UC property tag
- All equipment for removal must be brought to the ECE Shop for proper disposal
- Equipment Inventory Modification Request (EIMR) shall be generated by the Shop staff
- Notify the Shop for all tagged equipment relocation
Equipment Repair
- Minor: simple repairs may be performed at the Shop
- Major: repairs shall be sent out
Lost and Found, Security, and Keys
- Notify the ECE Shop for anything lost or found
- Report if anything is missing or know of a theft
- Report if any suspicious person seen wandering the halls
- For access / keys to any room an Authorization Form is needed unless you are enrolled in a lab
Safety and Training
- Laboratory Safety Orientation: is held each September for all incoming graduate students to meet regulatory requirements
- Undergraduate Students - ECE Lab Safety Training (Mandatory)
- Graduate Students - UCSB Lab Safety Training (Mandatory - Online Safety Training Course)
- Graduate Students - Orientation to the Electronics Shop
