"Advanced Optical Modulation for Data Center Networks"

Advanced high-spectral efficiency optical modulation will become increasingly important to enable the exponential growth in data center networks. In this presentation, we’ll review several interesting optical modulation schemes that may find applications for future 400 Gb/s and 1.6 Tb/s optical transceivers.

About Ilya Lyubomirsky:

Ilya Lyubomirsky is a Senior Optical Communication System Engineer at Finisar Corp. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His industry experience includes system design of optical metro networks at ONI, research and development of ultra-dense WDM systems at CIENA, and research on long haul fiber-optic communication systems based on PICs at Infinera. Ilya was also an Electrical Engineering faculty member at UCR, where he thought and conducted research in high-speed optical communication systems. He is currently contributing to the research and development of 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s optical transceiver technologies at Finisar.
