DISTINGUISHED LECTURE at the ECE SEMINAR SERIES

Abstract

The future of connected world technologies - robots, drones, smart grid, EV charging, autonomous navigation, AI and digital twins. These technologies are transforming the way many industries are operating and changing our day to day lives. The first part of this presentation will focus on my work in developing these transformative technologies. Subsequently, we will explore strategies for undergraduates and graduate students to seamlessly navigate the transition from academia to a career within the industry.

Bio

Mrinalini Lakshminarayanan is the Head of product strategy and innovation for Industry 4.0 (manufacturing, supply chain), Energy, V2X, Aviation and autonomous navigation. In her 26 yrs industry career she has held global leadership positions for product, technology and operations in Motorola Solutions, Zebra technology, Gogo Inflight(acquired by Intelsat), Parker Hannifin, Ingram Micro and Verizon. This includes leading cutting edge technology and products in Internet of Things(IoT), eXtended reality(XR), LTE-5G, artificial intelligence  and aircraft connectivity (passenger and avionics). She has managed the global P&Ls, industry and university partnership ecosystems, technology and industry center of excellence(CoE) across the broad spectrum of verticals and channels globally.

Mrinalini is the GSMA Digital Industry forum steering committee co-chair, Board member of Illinois Technology Association - Midwest IoT Council, University of Illinois Chicago- executive advisory committee member of Center for Advanced Analytics, Chair of the IISc AANA, BoD of IISc foundation.  She has been awarded Wondrous women in IT, Women of the Channel 2022, 2021, Channel Chiefs 2022, Women in M2M & IoT award in 2019, Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, She  is passionate to drive growth of girls and women in STEM and leadership.
